Itinerary:

Monday 1 September 2025
We will pick you up at your designated pick-up point and make our way to Dublin Port to board the ferry to Holyhead. Our first visit will be the beautiful seaside town of Beaumaris, just a short drive away. This town has a captivating mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture. You will have free time to take a walk through the town, stroll along the seafront taking in the Pier and the views over the Menai Strait and Snowdonia. Stroll through the streets with their charming cottages. If you wish you can visit Beaumaris Castle (optional), a United Nations World Heritage site constructed between 1295 and 1330. You will have time for lunch and after some free time here we will board the coach in the afternoon and continue to Snowdonia and your hotel for the first of 4 nights with dinner. (D,B&B)

Tuesday 2 September 2025
After breakfast, we will travel to Caernarfon Castle - a large fortress in the town of Caernarfon that sits on the bank of the River Seiont where it meets the Menai Strait – one of the biggest and best castles in North Wales. The castle walls contain eight towers and two twin-towered gateways that stand prominently in the town. Inside you will find the Royal Welsh Fusiliers Regimental Museum and an exhibition about the Prince of Wales. You can also climb some of the towers for a view across the town and the Menai Strait.
In the afternoon we will make the short journey to Llanberis Station to the Snowdon Mountain Railway for your train journey to the summit of Snowdon. This railway journey has been described as one of the most scenic in the world, with stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views (weather dependent of course!). On arrival at the Summit, one of the world’s great panoramas is revealed, Eryri, Land of the Eagles. The unique Visitor Centre at the summit was built to withstand the mountain weather conditions, whilst blending in with its natural surroundings. We will make the return descent to Llanberis and return to the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. (D,B&B)

Wednesday 3 September 2025
This morning, we will be joined by a local guide and we will travel to Porthmadog where you will board the Ffestiniog Railway for a 13½ mile journey from the harbour to the slate quarrying town of Bleanau Ffestiniog. This historic train climbs over 700 feet from sea level into the mountains through tranquil pastures and magnificent forests, past lakes and waterfalls, round tight bends, clinging to the side of the mountain or tunnelling through it. The coach will meet us in Bleanau Ffestiniog and we will make our way to Bodnant where our afternoon will be spent at the world-famous Bodnant Gardens. With intimate corners, sweeping lawns, grand terraces and verdant woodland, there are many gardens in one at Bodnant with a stunning backdrop of the Carneddau mountains of Snowdonia.
We will make the short journey back to the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. (D,B&B)

Thursday 4 September 2025
Today, after breakfast, we will again be joined by our guide who will board the coach and do a guided tour of Llandudno, a seaside resort that retains much of its Victorian charm. Then we will travel the short distance to Conwy, with its magnificent 13th century castle and quaint streets. In the heart of the town is Plas Mawr, an Elizabethan town house. On the quay nearby is the ‘Smallest House in Britain’.
In the afternoon we will visit the spectacular Bodrhyddan Hall, a Grade I listed building that has been the home of Lord Langford and his family for over 500 years. The Hall is set in several acres of stunning formal gardens and reclaimed woodland and is one of the few remaining family-owned stately homes in Wales. Bodrhyddan is largely of 17th century design with notable Victorian additions and contains an extensive historical collection, including arms & armour, a variety of fine art and portraits, and a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy & Sarcophagus. The gardens cover eight acres of land, including the formal parterre and flowing lawns.
We will return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner. (D,B&B)

Friday 5 September 2025
After breakfast this morning, we will check out of the hotel and start the journey back towards Holyhead. We will have our final visit of the trip at Plas Cadnant Gardens, situated at the side of the Menai Strait, hidden from view near to Menai Bridge on the Isle of Anglesey. Former owners of Plas Cadnant were related to the Tremayne family of Heligan House, now famous for its Lost Gardens. Plas Cadnant Gardens is now considered amongst the loveliest twenty gardens in Wales. We will depart the gardens in time to travel the short distance to Holyhead to catch the afternoon ferry back to Dublin. You will be returned to your original pick-up locations after arrival.
