| We will pick you up from our designated pick-up points and travel to Dublin for our ferry to Holyhead. We depart Holyhead and continue our journey to the hotel near Cheltenham with a stop en route and check in for our 4-night stay. (D, B&B) | | |
| Tuesday 22 July 2025 |
| We depart the hotel after breakfast and travel to Bath, one of England’s finest cities for a walking tour first and then the rest of the day at your leisure. With its Roman Baths, built around Britain’s only hot spring, the Georgian Royal Crescent, famous Pulteney Bridge and the 15th century Abbey, there is so much to see and do here. Return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B) | | |
| Wednesday 23 July 2025 |
| We depart the hotel after breakfast and travel to Highclere Castle, the film location for the hugely successful Downton Abbey. Here you will have a self-guided tour of the Castle & Gardens. Highclere Castle is one of England’s most beautiful Victorian Castles set amidst 1,000 acres of spectacular parkland. The Carnarvon Family has lived at Highclere since 1679, and the current Castle stands on the site of an earlier house, which in turn was built on the foundations of the medieval palace owned by the Bishops of Winchester for some 800 years. |
| After some free time spent here, we will continue on to visit the village of Bampton, which is used for many of the outdoor scenes of Downton Abbey. It is located in Oxfordshire and was chosen because the village provided an authentic back drop close to London. There will be some free time to explore Bampton before we return to the hotel. | Thursday 24 July 2025 |
| This morning, after breakfast, we will board the coach and make our way to the birthplace and home town of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon. Stratford-upon-Avon is a bustling market town, steeped in charm and history. Here we will visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the family home of William Shakespeare’s wife. It is here that Anne was born and raised and where the young Shakespeare would have visited her during the early part of their relationship. Wander through acres of beautiful cottage gardens and orchards, and explore the sculpture trail inspired by Shakespeare’s plays. You will have free time in Stratford to explore and you might like to visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace and museum or just wander the vast array of shops before taking a break in one of the many wonderful tea and coffee shops. There’s a huge range of places to choose from. |
| We will return to the hotel in the afternoon with time to freshen up before dinner. | | |
| Friday 25 July 2025 |
| After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and travel to Holyhead with comfort stop en-route to catch the afternoon ferry back to Dublin. After disembarking, we transfer you to your original pick-up point. |
